Research Projects-
For the past few weeks, I have been working on my research project. Of all the writing assignments I've had, this one is the most challenging. According to the Research reading post made available to us, it has give me insight about the way a research paper should be. I wanted to research how technology has affected personal behaviors and social realities. I have read a few magazines articles touching base with what I need, I have read the newspaper and found a really great article about a retreat in upscale New York that prohibits the use of ANY technology. I gave a report of how this person felt being without today's technology( cell phone, iphone, laptop etc.) I even wanted to give a much personal account of how people of a different age group has been affected and what their major uses of today's technology.
As I have read some of my classmates project ideas, I realize that I'm on track with my topic. Topics like how robotic technology can improve surgery, how the hearing impaired makes use of computers, and even topics that visits the manufacturing sectors with the use of technology are all great ideas. I would of never thought I 'd be this interested in technology, but with all these great topics, its interesting to read all the different information all of us can find.

online dating/ dating scams
Over the past week, our class has been discussing the affects of online dating. During my posts this week, I have read some pretty interesting views. Some of my colleagues have had some experience with online dating good and bad. Personally. I have never visited Ds or any other online match making site, but students like Emily, Maren and Joel and myself all disagree with the article's notion that all online dating sites are different. We all somewhat agreed that these sites all have the characteristics of an online community. Each of us have similarities that describe our reasons why we thinks online communities are the same. The other article titled "Down the Rabbit Hole" compares two communities. Cyberspace vs Real-Life are compared. The author makes comparisons between the two making note that people refer online relationships rather than real- life. Baker states that if two people make regular discussions online, they two can become close in comparison of offline relationships.

translating language of music
I have read several articles this week, one that discussed how the translation of music is beneficial. The article was written by a college student who created this audio essay to explain the importance of music and its audience. I also learned how music is intended to create an identity for the musicians.
Musicians refrain from using verbal communication in hopes of translating something to their audience.
-they also intend to create a broader universe amongst the audience and composers.

Proof Of Learning
This week has been a stressful one, but I have learned some interesting topics as well as how to blog. Although I haven't mastered the blogging, I have room for much improvement. How the Brain Works was the first Genre our class had to read about. The topic was merely a discussion about how the brain operates and function. Examples such as magic tricks, computer technology were some of the few tested. According to the brain with correlation with the magic trick, the article demonstrated how people more than often experience an illusion of infrared motion that affects what our brain detects. It also stated that our brains become suppressed. This particular genre was hard to comprehend. I also read about the many uses of technology and how important technology has evolved. Mr Kelly did a wonderful job explaining how technology has expanded from earlier times until now. I have read several other articles titled 'Reputation Management", and Facebook Friends which I found to be more interesting. Facebook has a lot of pitfalls, but I think can be a great benefit for helping with employment, business aspects and other useful advertisements so long as individuals are grown up about it.
